The new “healthy yogurt” craze was first popularized by the infamous “Pinkberry” in SoCal (in California), but do not fret, trends don’t only stay in LA — they even creep up into San Francisco, where it’s trendy to not be trendy. Sure, it’s refreshing to the palette, but hasn’t this yogurt phenomenon gotten a little bit out of hand? Variations of Pinkberry have been sprouting up everywhere in SF, including places like Jubili and the 2-day-old “Swirl Culture,” where you can not only look cool eating breakfast, but you can also listen to custom CD-tracks and pose…pose your pretty little head off.
So the next time you’re thinking about walking to the nearest “yogurt dive,” be sure to sport your trendiest hipster get-up, because yogurt & cereal are no longer just breakfast items…it’s a culture.
